Overview
Advanced view of CMB Polarization
CMB polarization is a faint directional pattern created when quadrupole variations in the radiation field scatter from free electrons. It provides information complementary to temperature anisotropy and is commonly decomposed into E-mode and B-mode patterns.
Polarization constrains reionization, primordial perturbations, gravitational lensing, neutrino physics, and possible inflationary gravitational waves.
