Structure
Components and layers of Saturn
Saturn's atmosphere contains alternating bands and storms above a deep hydrogen-helium envelope. Pressure increases inward until hydrogen becomes metallic, surrounding a denser central region. The ring system is divided into major rings, gaps, narrow ringlets, and embedded moon-driven structures made mostly of water-ice particles.
