Overview
Advanced view of Titan
Titan is Saturn's largest moon and the only moon with a dense atmosphere at its surface. It has a nitrogen-rich atmosphere, methane clouds and rain, river channels, dunes, and stable lakes and seas of liquid methane and ethane, while a water-rich interior may contain a deep subsurface ocean.
Titan is a laboratory for atmospheric chemistry, climate cycles, organic synthesis, and landscape formation under cryogenic conditions. It also broadens the concept of planetary 'weather' beyond water-based systems.
