Structure
Structure of Magnetars & Dense Nuclear Matter
A magnetar has the basic layered structure of a neutron star but with magnetic fields that can exceed those of ordinary pulsars by orders of magnitude. The solid crust overlies a dense interior where neutrons may be superfluid and protons superconducting, while the magnetosphere can become twisted and loaded with energetic particles.
